Bortenevskoe field

  • Bortenevskoe field is located 30 km south-east of Staritsy, on the border with the Moscow region. 
    Bortenevskoe field is one of the most revered sites in the Tver region. There is a memorial complex dedicated to the events of 1317, when Prince Michael of Tver defeated ardynskuyu cavalry.

    The complex consists of a plaque carved with the history of the area and the chapel Michael of Tver, which was destroyed in 1917 and restored in 1997. Slightly away from the chapel there is a monument to another memorial stone and a wooden cross. Surrounded Memorial picturesque Russian nature and silence - something like this here was 700 years ago.
