Nowadays Novadzyavochy Monastery is a branch of the Historical Museum in Moscow (founded in 20-30 years of the last century, after the closure of the monastery). This is a collection representative collection of art objects - icons, ancient Russian art, fabrics, precious manuscripts, former church property this and other monasteries. Including contributions and gifts made by historical figures: Ivan the Terrible, Boris Godunov, Princess Sophia Alexeyevna, prominent nobles. However, the museum is valuable not only for its unique collection, but also historical and architectural ensemble of 16-17 centuries.

The monastery was founded, as is commonly believed, the Grand Prince Vasily III in the 17th century in honor of the Smolensk accession to the Russian lands. The name comes from or placed on girls' field, or perhaps from the name of its first abbess Helena Devochkina. Almost immediately, the monastery became a refuge for the royal widows and tsareўnaў. By 1922 the monastery was very famous and richest monastery. In Soviet times, it was closed.

Novadzyavochy Monastery is part of the southern defense ring of Moscow. And still looks if not militant, it is ready for defense. On its territory remained six churches and other historic buildings. The monastery is the famous Navadzevіchyya cemetery where lie many famous people of Russia. The complex of the monastery included in UNESCO World Heritage Site.
