  • Equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius, was founded in 180's, is a bronze Roman statue. First gilded statue of Aurelius was installed on the slope of the Capitol in front of the Roman Forum. Sculpture is the only statue survived from antiquity.

    On the statue, which is more than life-size in half, Marcus Aurelius is depicted in a soldier's cloak over the tunic. Statue is very simple in its design and composition. Marcus Aurelius is portrayed not only as a grand emperor who conquered enemies, but also as a philosopher and thinker. Aurelius individual person, with prominent cheekbones and bulging eyes.
