  • Volochok Reservoir - one of the many natural attractions of the Tver region, located just west of the Almighty Volochek. The reservoir was created by the famous Hydraulic MI Serdyukov to maintain navigable level Volochok water system. It occupies the central part of the region, hence begins its 188-kilometer route to the Volga River Tvertsa. Volochok reservoir created in the XVIII century in the valleys of Cna and duties. In 1951 were reconstructed structures that create backwater ponds.

    The water level fluctuates within 3 meters. The reservoir is used for water transport, water, energy, fisheries and timber rafting. Every year it carries out seasonal flow regulation. To date Volochok Reservoir the reserve is an important source for the Moscow Canal and river Tvertsa.
